i get about 34 mpg with a v6 accord, doing 70-80(with cruise control), i can get to new jersey and drive around there before i have to fill up again, i live in New Hampshire btw

Not at all. The AC compressor is either on or off. Max AC means AC + recirculating cabin air only.

Theres no V4 Accord, its in-line 4.
Max AC is a combination of the highest blower speed along with recirc. Yes, you can do the same thing with the individual controls but there it is all in ONE BUTTON.
