Default Adding a/c Oil

This is my first time working on an A/C system so I decided to replace the condenser, evaporator, and he receiver/dryer. The condenser and evaporator had major leaks.Since I've gone this far, I'll also be converting to134A. The service manual says to add certain amounts of oil when replacing various components. Now the dumb question is do I add the oil to the various parts or just to the compressor?
Thanks

Default RE: Adding a/c Oil

The oil distributes itself around as the AC runs. That table is based on how much oil ends up in each component.

If you're converting from R-12 to R-134a, I think you'll have to drain the old oil out of the compressor. And possibly any other components you don't replace.
