Default Aftermarket alternator brushes?

It's time to replace the alternator brushes on my 96 Accord EX -- they are worn almost to the end.

Honda part #31105-PR7-A01 costs around $30 give or take.

Then there are aftermarket brushes for around $10.

Does anyone have any experience with the aftermarket brushes? Any problems with them short or long term?

Thanks. John

Fyi, I bought a set of Crank-N-Charge.

Visually they looked okay, a little bit cheaper looking than the stock ones.

Problem was, I couldn't fit it onto the armature. The clearance is really tight in there, and the new brushes bottomed out with 2/16-3/16" exposed, and with that much exposed I could not get the brush holder mounted.

The vendor was nice enough to send me another one free of charge, but this one had the same issue.

At the same time, I was able to determine that the original brushes on the alternator have about 1/4" left on them -- enough for probably another 100k miles. So for now I'm going to leave it alone, and will purchase a factory set of brushes when I order other parts and can save on shipping.
