Default Aftermarket Keyless Entry

1997 4 door accord lx -- already has power door locks.. So I bought a cheapo keyless entry, these are my instructions..

I did find this link 1997-*Honda*Accord*Vehicle Wiring Chart and Diagram

But I'm still lost on what goes where.. Any help?

If my failing memory serve me......there should be a two wire "plug" near the under dash fuse panel that isn't plugged into anything.

This plug is a "tap" into the door locks......from the factory they had this connection for either a dealer installed system or factory.

The locks are a "negative trigger" via the control module in the drivers door.

Ok, so I found a 3 wire plug wrapped in blue tape. One wire is orange, another black/white, another yellow/red.

So my understanding is my white wire goes to orange, and my white/black goes to black/white?

No, based on your keyless system diagram the White wire (close) should go to the car's Blk/Wht wire(lock input).

The keyless system Wht/Blk wire (open) should go to the car's Orn wire (unlock input).

Okay, thanks.. Gonna go unhook the one I put in already lol --- Man, my back is gonna be killing me after this.. Very difficult, those wires on the connector dont give you any room to pull them down

I hooked it up. It has power, grounded good.. For the life of me, I can't get it to lock/unlock (with doors open/closed) Remote lights up, control box clicks.. I pushed the code learn and push unlock, and do it for lock.. and nada

Check/Re-check that the keyless system's Yellow wire and Yel/Blk wire are both grounded.

If they are, try switching the connections of the system's lock and unlock wires. The keyless system's diagram may be mislabeled.

Ok, so... I had used all those blue snap connectors, and well apparently none of them were worth a flip, so I stripped the wires to make bare wire connections, and now it works! -- Ugh.. Thank you both.. I WAS going to make a video, good thing I didn't.. Would be full of bleeps.. I may go ahead and make one, showing where the wires are and all that jazz.
