aggravating but possibly nothing problem..

Default aggravating but possibly nothing problem..

is it normal for the car to take like 3 or 4 seconds to start? with my moms hummer and my dads charger they start up right away, but their also newer, so is it normal for mine to take that long?

No, it is not normal for it to take that long. It should start right away. Check the battery connections. You can also get the battery tested for free at most auto parts stores.

Getting any check-engine lights? And also open the hood & count how many sparkplugs you have...

We used to have a 2003 4-cyl and it didn't take that long to fire.

Try this...
Turn the key to ON for 1.5 to 2. seconds. The fuel pump will run for 2 seconds; don't wait for it to quit.

Then turn the key to START.

By doing this, you are pressurizing the fuel rail & injectors. It shouldn't really make a difference. But IF IT DOES, your fuel system might be leaking down its pressure.
