Air Conditioning Issues

Air Conditioning Issues
I have a 1996 Honda Accord with Air Conditioning issues. I turn the on switch and make sure the A/C switch is pushed in and the Fan/Blower does not turn on. I can hear the A/C Compressor kick on, but it does not want to turn on. This does not happen all time, but only on occasion. I have to hit the dash with my fist for the Fan/Blower to start working. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or if it could be relay going bad? Thanks for all your help.

From your description, the heater blower motor brushes are worn out. Brushes wear and loose contact w/ armature. When you thump the dash, they reseat and motor starts, but probably won't restart w/o another thump. New motor (ebay, amazon, etc) will fix the problem.
Motor is retained by three screws (1 difficult to reach) under the pax side dash. I found a flexiible drive extension allowed access to the difficult screw.
good luck

The OEM part number is 79310-SR3-A01
On my 95, I first bought an aftermarket one. I didn't like that because it had two small wires that I had to splice into the wire harness. I also had to change over the plastic fin assembly. The wires would get bumped by people's feet.
I eventually bough the Honda version (~$85 at online sites, or $116 at the dealer). It plugged right into the wire harness and had no problems since.
I think you have to remove three bolts to drop out the fan assembly. It was pretty simple.

I don't think you need to remove the glove box. Removing the glove box is pretty simple though.
