Default Air in powersteering causing whine

I just had the timing belt, water pump, and alt/ac/ps belt changed, and an oil leak fixed. The seals/gaskets that were replaced: oil pump seals, cam seal kit, oil seal, oil passage gasket, and o-ring.

I picked up the car and got 2 miles down the road, and noticed how loud the powersteering noise was. It made this whining noise just idling without turning the steering wheel. I called back to the shop, and they said to drive it that it had air in the powersteering system, and would stop. Well, I drove the car over 200 miles this weekend, and the noise is still there. I am taking the car back Monday. My thoughts are the car should have never left the shop making this kind of noise. They also should have told me about the problem instead of letting me drive off. I would have taken the car back then, but my ride had already left, and they were waiting after hours for me to pick the car up for the weekend.

This can not be good for the powersteering pump. This is a 2001 sedan ex 3.0 V6

I'm guessing the PS issue was not there before the work...so yes, take it back.

They might have removed the PS line from the pump when doing the work. This model did/does have an issue with the o-ring on that line.

Just something for THEM to think about.
