Default Alternator bolts

Hey all,

I recently replaced the alternator in my car and I thought I had the bolts drove home, but apparently I didn't and one of the mounting bolts sheared off. Luckily I can get at the part of the bolt shat sheared off. My question I does anyone know the correct size bolts I need to replace them. The bolt that broke is the the lower of the two but I figure I should replace both since the top was has probably been compromised as well.
My vehicle is a 2008 accord, 2.4L

The alternator bolts shouldn't shear off. I'm wondering if the bolt was the wrong size and slight movement of the alternator damaged it over time?

I'd recommend getting the bolts at the Honda dealership to ensure the collar of the bolt fits snug into the alternator holes.

The bolt sheared because i apparently didn't have the top bolt tightened correctly and it worked itself loose causing the alternator to wobble and thereby putting stress on the lower bolt. The bolt I used were the original bolts that came with my car so they should have been the correct ones.

I see. I'd recommend getting the bolt from the dealership.

Right on. I'll give them a call on Monday and see if they may have a replacement part.
