For me, it was the 'O' ring behind oil filter adapter.

No mention of "oil consumption" or type oil used. Just curious how much oil was leaking over time, and what the viscosity of the oil used (dino or syn?)

What type of engine do you have in it?

I was wondering if you ever got that problem fixed? Im actually going through the same thing right about now. My mechanic back at home (Bronx, N.Y.) told me it was the valve cover gaskets and was charging me $150. Good year (Syracuse, N.Y.) ran a diagnostics on the car and told me I needed a new Oil Pan and Oil Pan Gasket $650.00 .

Supposedly I do need new valve cover gaskets but the mechanic in good year told me that getting new valve cover gaskets wont stop the oil from leaking and burning and reccomended I only get the Oil Pan and Oil Pan Gasket.

Dont know if that helped you in any way, but if you could help me out I would gladly appreciate it!
