I'm having similar problems with speedometer that other people are having. My 91 honda Accord Lx has a speedo that works on rare occasions but ussually doesnt. The odometer doesnt work either. All other gauges work fine. The sport light also blinks after about 5 seconds with the speedometer quits working. I don't have a cruise so I can't check the VSS that way. Does the sport light blinking indicate a VSS problem vs. speedometer problem?

I have been driving it this way for awhile but its time for an inspection sticker and in Texas I don't know but assume I will need a working speedometer to get my car inspected?

BTW, I just replaced the ignition switch on my car thanks to this site. Saved me a bunch of money and took about 45 minutes! Thanks!

a blinking S light can mean a lot of things. you should retrieve the trouble code. but from what you've described it sounds like the electrical portion of the VSS is bad.
