Default anti-lock brakes, 93

Got a 5 speed, 4 cyl 93 accord EX we bought brand new. Last year the anti lock brakes starting engaging every time the brakes were applied...without regard to the speed the car was going.
I did a visual inspection for obvious damage...broken wires at each weel assy, under the hood etc...but nothing.
The dealer wants a fortune to even look at it and I was wondering if anyone has specific working knowledge of the system and might give me some troubleshooting ideas. None of the auto-store manuals give troubleshooting techniques.
I pulled the fuse to disengage the system, but would like to fix it if possible and not too expensive.

Thanks

Is the abs light on? Are there any stored trouble codes?

The ABS light never came on until I removed the fuse. Now of course, it stays on.

Are the tires all the same size?
Pop the fuse back in and run the car aroundto get a code, I'm pretty sure you can get the code on your car using the Blue 2 pin connector at the top of the passenger side kick panel.
Then you can repost with the code.

tires are all the original size.

You lost me...how do I read this code? Do I need to get a special piece of equipment to do this??

Go to the link, paperclip will work for a jumper. If the Service connection has never been used it will be held to the harness with Blue tape.

how do you know that anti lock brakes are engaging ?? and ABS lite is not on ?? and yeah if you remove the abs fuse the lite will definately come on
are you experiencing pedal pulsation ?? if so ... not to insult your intelligence but could it be possible that you are experiencing that because of warped rotors ?? I know stupid question ...

if indeed is the abs ,, like it was adviced,,, you need to pull the code and post it here

I have a 93 Accord with almost the same problem. With any amount of pedal pressure above 60mph I can hear the ABS pump run and the pedal pulsates. The pump will also start to run at speeds above 100mph. This has been the case since ever since I bought the car three years and 40K miles ago. The ABS light has never come on and the braking system has no other issues. I just installed fourbrand new tires all the same size with no change.

Does the ABS light have to come on to register a code? If I had to bet I would say the problem is with one of the front wheel sensors, but how do I tell which one?

I have about decided just to live with mine as-is. Since I found no obvious damage with wiring etc, its bound to be an expensive component that needs to be replaced...and...without knowing for absolute sure the particular component will fix the problem, I'm not willing to take the risk of purchasing it and ending up with the problem persisting.
Mine pulsed on every application of the brakes but the light never did come on...until I remove the fuse of course.

I sure wish there was an easy way to troubleshoot this problem without involving the dealer and their crazy prices.

I just wanted to add an update to this thread. last weekend I replaced the passanger side drive axle and now I no longer have the unusual ABS engagement. I had already returned the core, so I can't be certain if it had the ABS ring or not. Anyway I'm happy now.
