Default ATF Cooler?

Does the 2012 Accord LX have cooler lines for the ATF through the bottom of the radiator? I did not notice any. Also, I was hoping to add a Magnefine filter in the ATF return line but it didn't appear there was enough straight run in any of the hoses. Has anyone added a Magnefine? And if so, any pictures of where?
Thanks,
James

Looks like you already have a filter on this one. See #6 in pic

I don't think there are any cooler lines. Number 8 in Poorman's illustration is actually a warmer.

8th generation (2008-2012) Accord 4 cylinder automatics had an OEM in-line ATF filter already installed.

2008-2010 Accords 4 cylinder automatics had ATF cooling lines which ran directly from/to the radiator.

The 2011-2012 Accords 4 cylinder automatics added the ATF warmer and changed the way the ATF cooling lines run. The Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) warmer uses the heat of the engine coolant (which warms more quickly after a cold start-up) to help bring the ATF up to operating temperature faster. -- The cooling lines run from the water outlet housing on the engine block to the inlet on the ATF warmer and back to the thermostat housing. I believe the warmer also serves the dual purpose to cool too.

Redbull is right,

The 'warmer' helps get the transmission to operating temp faster in a cold start situation however the engine coolant helps keep the transmission fluid in temp sepc as it gets hot.

It makes logical sense.

To further clarify, in the 2008-2010 Accords (and earlier Accords) automatics, the transmission fluid flowed in/out the radiator to help cool the ATF. In the 2011-2012 Accords automatics, coolant flows in/out the ATF warmer; in addition to transmission fluid flowing in/out the ATF warmer.

In earlier Accords, like the 7th generation Accord 4 cylinder automatics, people have replaced the OEM in-line filter with a Magnefine filter.

Default ATF Filter

Thanks Redbull, and others. I was wondering what that block was. I thought it was dispersing ATF to 4 different locations. Does the existing stock filter have internal magnet or just filter paper? Also, do you know the flow direction through the filter, up or down? Thanks again.

From the pictures I seen of a cut open OEM filter, it only looks like filter paper and no magnet(s).

Not 100% sure; but, I believe the filter flow is like in the attached pic.
