Default Auto Tranny re-build

Anyone have any ideas how much it's gonna cost me to have my automatic tranny re-built? I recently had the fluid changed, and it runs much smoother than it was, but it still slips on the 2-3 upshift (not all the time, but more often than not). I think I may end up selling it after the service, because i've already spent a grand in other parts and tires. Car only cost me 4k, so if i've already spent half that amount on repairs, I might as well get a band new car... what do you guys think?

You might want to remove the solenoids on the tranny and clean out the screen before getting a new tranny.

When you changed the fluid, was there a lot of metal shavings in it?

well, i had the car serviced at a local shop. i didnt ask him if there was any shavings in there... i guess i probably should have... i dunno, i've already spent a lot of money on other maintenance, i'm really leaning towards getting rid of the car and getting a brand new saturn sky redline... i mean, i love this car, its reliable and good looking... but, boy have ialways wanted a 2 seater conv. plus its got a turbo engine and RWD... i miss my 97 eclipse GSX... im gonna get together a downpayment for a Redline...!
