axle problem 93 accord F22, 5 speed
Sorry for not looking throu all the threads guys
(the search funtion did not help much)
But I am trying to remove the passenger axle from a 1993 5 spd.
We removed the axle nut, dropped the lower ball joint, so the hub is out of the way like we where told to do.
Now we got stuck, the axle wont come out more then an inch.
We tried turning it and using a pry ball(gently)
But with no luck
What did we do or not do right?

We tried that , but I guess maybe just with not enough force
Will it hurt it anything if we turn it?
And we dont have to pull the drivers one also do we?
(read somewhere that you might have to)

You will only have to pull the passenger side.
You can turn the axle in the transmission as long as you are in neutral.
Just be careful that you don't damage the seal that is in the transmission. Make sure that your pivot point is on the transmission case and you put force on the axle out.

when you pry on it, you cant just simply put smooth force on it... it takes a bit of a jolt to "convince" that snap ring to let loose... just put your bar in there like your just gonna put even pressure on it, then put a lil space between the axle and your bar and then pry with a snapping motion... it'll usually pop out on the second or third jolt. when it does pop loose, just pull it the rest of the way out... then when u install the new one, line up the splines and gently push it in till you feel it bottom out, then give it a little shove to pop it back into place... you will not hurt the new axle pushing on it. hope this helps, and good luck

Its up on a hoist, so its supported
We still cant get it out thou.
Seems like maybe the c-clip might have bent or something
No matter how much we pry on it, (including the jolting) it refuses to come out more then an about and inch to a 1/2 inch.
I must say I am completely stumped on this one.
Thanks for the advise everyone
