Default Battery light on after replacing starter

I just replace the starter on my 2003 2.4 Accord (what a PITA), I get everything back together and it started right up. But now the battery light is on. I've looked and I don't see any cables that i didn't reconnect. Any idea what to look for? I was super excited when the car started but now I'm bummed out because I assume the alternator isn't charging the battery.

I took a bunch of pictures as I was replacing the starter so I will soon post a blog hoping to help others.

Thanks again!

There are a number of electrical connectors to be released when removing the intake manifold. Check that all are reconnected.

good luck

I did and they all look good. As it turns out I think the light was on because I had not entered my security code yet? THe light is now off. Does entering your security code clear the battery light when the battery has been disconnected?

Thanks everyone for the help!

Well... I guess the battery light came back on while driving back from the store today because the car died a block from the house and it would't start back up. Batter dead. I've double checked the wires and can't find any that are loose or not connected. What are the chances that an alternator dies while replacing a starter. I'm thinking that s must be something I did to cause this?

Thanks.

Be sure to check the fuses in the fuse panels.

I didn't notice any fuses blown but I need to put a meter on them to check. I will do that this afternoon. I did notice that the battery light now never comes on. I believe that it used to come on when initially start the car like all of the other lights. I'm guessing this is a clue and it does sound like a fuse. THe odd thing is the first time I started the car after the new start the light was on, every since then the light never comes on.

Thanks...

You can buy a battery voltage monitor from Amazon, Walmart, et al for < $20. Insert in cigarette lighter socket and monitor your battery voltage. This should tell if something is amiss w/ charging system.

Amazon.com: Equus 3721 Battery and Charging System Monitor: Automotive

good luck

I found the issue and it was a connector beneath the manifold that wasn't snug... Here's a recap of my starter adventures.
