Hello All,
My 2012 Accord Coupe recently started flashing the battery light when the car is parked. It starts flashing as soon as the alarm light engages and alternates with the alarm light in perfect time, like watching a metronome. Otherwise, the car starts and runs fine. I do not want to take to the dealer to have this looked at, but will if it is going to manifest into a more serious problem down the tracks. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Can you clarify a few things below?


Battery light = warning light on your dash?
Alarm light = park lights that flash when your alarm goes off or is it a flashing led light from the alarm system?


Is it a manufacturer alarm system or aftermarket?
Why would your alarm light engage? do you mean when the alarm is armed/disarmed?

 

The battery light is the red symbol on the dash, it's shaped like a battery. Alarm light is a red LED on the dash. This light flashes inside the car when this stock alarm system is armed. (engine off, doors locked)
