Default Belt whine and key-in-ignition beeper

I was not able to find answers to my questions in existing posts, so I am sorry if it is there and I didn't find it.

92 Accord LX - 222k, 100k on engine.

First, the engine whines when the engine is cold - start-up and driving. Serp belt looks fine, no cracks or fraying edges. Is belt dressing sufficient to quiet the belt, or should I still replace it?

Second, the car beeps at me as though the key were still in the ignition, even though it's not.

when the car is beeping is there a light on the dash flashing? It could be from either the key, the headlight switch etc. Does it stop when the door is closed?

As for the belt if it looks fine and isn't hardened or glazed then make sure that you have the correct tension on it

Are you sure the whine coming froma belt andis not coming from the alternator, a pulley, ormaybe from a fan motor? See if you can locate the whine with the hood open and the engine running.

When it beeps, is it the beep that tells you the key is in the ign, or the beep that tells you your lights are on?

(the key in ign one is "beepbeepbeep PAUSE beepbeepbeep PAUSE, etc, lights one is BEEP pause BEEP pause BEEP pause)
