Default Best procedure to remove gauge cluster

Hello everyone.

I am planning on pulling my cluster on Monday so I can swap it for 5 Speed cluster.

I also plan on replacing all the bulbs with some LED bulbs I bought from Ebay.

I have read how to do it a few times but there are a few different methods used.

Some of them say to pretty much remove everything everywhere first and some show much less items to be removed.

Can someone who has done this already please explain to me the easiest method to pull the cluster.

Thank you in advance!

I'd help but I personally have not had to pull mine.....yet.

And I know you've done the searching and looking in FAQ's, that "other" site I see you on has a couple write ups.

Good luck, take pics for us

I have done it several times. The best and easiest method is from the service manual. The part to skip is regarding the climate control, I just leave the cables on the unit and leave the unit there.

See attached pics. (which will be in two separate posts)

I did this on my 95 accord.

Remove:

1. Center console
2. Plastic bezel around the radio
3. The HVAC control panel (only partially removed on mine). This has a plastic piece that covers the cluster. Be aware of the cable that adjusts the heat.
4. Remove 4 screws holding in the cluster.

The 94 online shop manual shows the locations of the screws holding it together.

It sounds like a lot, but it only took me about 15 minutes to replace mine.

Thanks guys.

I will knock this out and grab a picture.

I hope these bulbs look good I wish that I had bought a few white bulbs to use for the needles instead of all blue.
