Default Blew transmission....

Well Ill have to fix my idle problem later, but my transmission just blew out on me. It does not go into any gears does not move, and when i go to reverse than to park it grinds really loud but it never went into any gears. It cannot move at all.

Now for my dumba** mistake and how it came to be, i was racing a 97 civic, he thought his cvic could beat my accord. Well i was looking ahead and not at my dials, and feel a hard jerk and look down and i went to the 7800RPM Mark and then it shot down to normal idle, and did not move after that. Now its sitting in a parking lot.

I'm hoping its something like a TCU or a solenoid, but if its a rebuild, i don't mind doing it.

Well I guess my question is, what years of accord can I take a transmission from, and when I replaced should I replaced tcu as well?

Well, suggest be sure you print out your post and frame it, so your kids can see what their dad did when he was young.

Overall, what a heroic way for a 22 year old to go - in the heat of battle!

I'm guessing you have a '90 Accord. I know at least the '90-'93 should fit with no problem. Beyond that I don't know.

Be sure to flush the cooler in the bottom of the rad. Might as well get the converter as well, an in-line trans filter never hurts.

The 1990 accord has an F motor, right? If it does, transmissions from F and H motors are interchangable so finding a replacement shouldn't be too hard
