blower motor diagnostic?

blower motor diagnostic?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord Se which the blower only works on high speed. I replaced the blower motor resistor and it started working but failed within 5 minutes. I am hesitant to buy another resistor until I know why it blew so fast. My understanding is the blower motor may be drawing too much amperage and burning out the resistor. I am interested in an actual way to check this, for instance, what current/voltage/resistance readings should I be looking for.

I'd suggest purchasing a pdf of the honda shop manual from automanualsource.com for ~$22. It is a great help with DIY work.
You will need to do some resistance tests on the new resistor to verify the new part went bad. Let us know if the part went bad (also test the original part), then we can try to figure out the next step depending on your results.

OK so I found a copy of the manual and it looks like my resistor is actually still good. The next troubleshooting step should be "Disconnect the heater fan switch 7P connector". This is my first self repair and I have no idea where this connector is. Can anyone give me a pointer?
Thanks!
Thanks!

That would be the connector behind the actual fan switch.
You should be able to test if the voltage changes wires at the resistor when you go through the different fan speed settings. Hopefully you have an accurate wiring diagram.
