look on the brake pedal arm, there is a plunger type switch that contacts a plastic plug.
Often times the plastic plunger comes out, if so it can be replaced with a small bolt & nut.

Grab up your handy dandy test light; Be sure the switch plunger is pushed all the way in.
Test for power on the 'outbound' wire. Wht/Blk.
If there is power there, the switch is shorted.
REPLACE IT

Ok i found out what was wrong. I just changed the brakes and forgot to add more brake fluid. The Brake fluid was too low so the pedal wasnt high enough to reach the censor problem solved.....

was the brake lite on before you changed the brakes ??did you just change the brake pads?? during the job you performed did you lose brake fluid ??

the reason being,.,, that,,,, when you install new pads and squeeze the caliper piston back in,to make caliper slide over the rotor , the brake fluid level will actually rise in the reservoir ......So if it was low now, you had to be basically almost totally empty before thus the lite should have been on before ..
reason i am asking ,, is the perhaps there is a brake fluid leak in the brake system..
