Default CVT disengage

This is my first CVT and as a matter of fact my first non manual. I have noticed that if you shut the engine off with the CVT still in "D" and take your foot of the brake the car and roll and keep rolling if you let it. Is this the way a regular automatic works?

any auto or cvt not in "P" when shut off will roll whichever way gravity wants it to. question is, can you take the key out when it's still in "D" ?? if so, you gots a problem mr.
