Default Brake light question

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and hoping you can help out with a question about the brake lights on my '05 accord. The brake lights on the corners and on the trunk lid light up when you turn on the headlights as they should however they do no illuminate when you put your foot on the brake. I see that there are two bulbs in each of the four access spots, is it that one of the bulbs lights when hitting the break and the other lights up when you turn on the headlights???

Does the center/high mount brake light come on? If so I'm going to say the tail light bulb is blown - it is a "dual element" bulb.

Thanks Poorman. The center light does come on so it sounds like we did blow the bulb. sorry for the simple question but this is the first time dealing with the accord and didn't realize those bulbs were dual element to handle both.
