Default Brake lights are not working

I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX with 192k miles.

Ok so I noticed my brake lights were staying on after I parked. I looked at the brake light switch and noticed that the plastic backing was broke. I unplugged the brake light switch and took it out thinking I needed to replace the plug and plastic piece as a whole. Honda says the switch should be good and doubts that it is bad and recommends replacking the plastic. I replace the plastic and reinstalled the switch and nothing worked. I replaced the switch and again nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas what may have happened and could please help me out.

Thanks

Unplug switch and see if lights go off. If they do, then switch is closed. Next we find out why.

Confused from your post, but did you replace the bumper grommet that pushes the switch? The original grommet was a rubber grommet that rots and falls out. When it's missing, the brake lights stay on all the time. Get plastic bumper grommet from Honda, add a little grease, and press into place.

good luck

Got it. Yeah I replaced the grommet which was plastic and not rubber. Apparently this car has two fuse panels and I was unaware. I thought it only had one. The fuse went. Thanks.
