Braking at 55, car shook/vibrated loudly
EERRRR,
I've had this issue for a while, and posted up a few symptoms in the past. But last night was ridiculous. I started to brake at around 55 mph and my car shook/shimmyed to the point where you could here the rattling from the vibration. ANNOYING!! I live in the city where the street are mainly pot holes, and I know my alignment pulls to the right . However...is this my rotors?

If you car pulls to the right while driving that's alignment, if it only does it while braking then it's your brakes.... the shimmy/vibration (unless you were braking hard/sliding and the ABS kicked in) is probably a brake pad/rotor issue.... Pull the tire off (make sure your lug nuts weren't really loose causing the rim to wobble) and see how thick the pads are and consitent they are, try to rotate the brake rotor and see if it "catches" in any place (warped rotor) or take it to a shop and ask for an inspection (about $20.00 usually)... Long story short, Yes it's probably your rotors
Well, Phillips Honda was mostly the front rotor. So we got that turned for 40 bucks a peice. Now it shimmy very little. The rear is alittle warp.. So, later the rear will be replace with new rotors.
i had the same issue on my 01 accord. like when i broke at like 40 mph or more it starts to shake and turn to the left. so i got my rotar resurface and changed my brake pads. then did the allignment and my car was back to normal and better.
