Default a/c stopped working after rear main seal replacement

A few months ago I had to replace the rear main on my wifes 97 v6 accord. Afrlter everything was put back together I noticed the ac stopped working the blower comes on but the a/c pump doesn't engage. I tried putting refrigerant in it but it wouldn't take. Is there a fuse or anything I can check. Also there's a bunch of wires near the firewall on drivers side.I disconnected them when I removed the tranny does anybody know if rhe ac wires run in that area..

Yes. When you try to turn on the ac, do the rad fans come on?

Time for testing the ac comp relay. Either the relay or the inputs to it are bad.

Trace the power wire from the ac compressor coil/clutch back up to the relay. Then test the relay, if good then test the inputs to it.

Not sure on the v6, the following is the wire colors for the 4cyl.....hoping they are the same?

WHT is hot at all times
BLK/YEL is hot with key on
RED/BLU will ground from the ECU if everything is working

It could be related to the work.....or just one of those things. Let us know what you find.

The fact that the fans come on when you press the AC button is telling me the system charge is enough for the compressor to run....that is why I'm with checking the relay and its inputs.

I checed the fuses under the hood I switched the relay with the poower window relay works fine. Where is the fan clutch relay located I'm hearing it'd on the firewall behind the washer fluid tank.

Again, my knowledge of the 5th gen v6's.....sucks.

On the 5th gen 4cyl....there are two relays on a "bolt" just to the inside of the drivers headlight.....on the top rad support..looking from the firewall side to the front you can see them. My assumption, since the 6 cyl is the "other way" the realys will be moved to the pass side. Wish I had better answers for you, sorry.

Edit: that is why/where if you trace the power (red) wire from the ac compressor back up, you should be able to locate the relay.
