Default A/C trouble

Hey Guys & Gals,
New to forum, hope somebody out ther can help with my problem.
I have a 2000 accord EX, and the trouble I have is with theAc unit.
It works fine for a day or two, and then it just shuts off and the dash lights for the ac go off. Then a half hour or so it comes back on by itself.
Its been doing this for about a year. I checked the freon level and its perfect. Any help will be appreciated. thanks

AC switch light is grounded through the blower motor switch. If blower is going off when AC cut's off, the blower switch seems likely to be the fault. It could also be a faulty AC switch, AC thermostat, or AC pressure switch. Have you tried changing blower switch positions and cycling the AC switch when fault occurs? If this temporarily fixes the problem, you should replace the component.

There is a diagnostic for your condition "A/C System does not come on (compressor and both fans)" in the Honda shop manual. Go to DIY page "Online Manuals" and download a 94-97 manual. Your's should be similar, unless you have Auto Temp Control.

good luck
