Can i use synthetic?

Well it can never hurt to seafoam your car and start using synthetic. Just be prepared to replace some parts if they end up leaking I've done it to a friend's old Lebaron and on that car it made a nice difference. Body was junk (hit by a semi) but that engine was great. I'm probably going to do it to mine as well sometime this summer.

Nice score on the tuner too.

They are making high mileage synthetic now. Use that. It has better friction inhibitors and sealing additives than just straight synthetic.

Don't know why everyone don't use high mileage synthetic

If you want to avoid sudden cleaning that cause leaks, do a gradual switch. Run high mileage conventional. Technically it's a synthetic blend just not labelled that way. Do that then again at 1500 miles. Then at 3k miles do your high mileage synthetic oil change


By the way 5 months between oil changes is not good


PS purpose of the gradual switch is to clean and lubricate your seals and gaskets slowly
Should be 3000 miles or 3 months. Which ever comes first.
