Can't install power steering pressure hose, help.
Hi y'all. Trying to install a power steering pressure feed hose in my 2006 Honda Accord 2.4L. The nipple will not thread into the rack and pinion junction. I got it to thread in half way once but it did not thread in further because apparently the metal tube that runs under the block is touching so the approach angle into the junction is wrong. Hope that's clear. So, I took it back out, bent the tube to try to get the right angle, and now it won't thread at all. I kept re-bending the tube, especially at the S-shaped end, to try to get the correct angle. But looks like the tube just always hits something so can't get the precise angle that is needed for a very fine thread. Now it looks hopeless. No matter how much I bend the tube, it will not thread at all now. I tried returning the part and getting another one hoping it would be in tolerance but they're all the same. The part is just designed weird and that seems to be the problem. How would a mechanic solve this problem?
