Default Can't pull off snorkel tube...

On a 1993 Honda Accord (4-cyl 2.2l) I'm trying to remove the snorkel tube so I can clean the throttle body. I can remove the snorkel tube where it meets the air filter box but where it meets the throttle body is a nightmare!

There are all sorts of rusted pipes hanging off of the snorkel tube and I can get a few off but I'm afraid to break one. They're stiff. Then there's the one giving me the most problem. It's the thin pipe sticking out right where the throttle body meets the snorkel tube. It sticks out toward the sky and makes a right angle towards the drivers side.
I tried pulling on it and twisting on it but it wouldn't budge. I'm not sure if it's just old or if it's not meant to be pulled/twisted. I don't see how I can pull the vacuum tube without doing this. I'm trying to find a picture to show this...

It goes into the little thing that looks like the FITV but it's not the FITV, it's the thing closer to the brake master cylinder.

Try using PB Blaster or WD-40 to help get those items off.

Not so familiar with the 93, but usually hoses and such have a metal clip that keeps those items secured, so they don't fall off.

None of the service manuals appear to mention this thing.

It's held on simply by being plugged on. It's not held on by a clamp or anything if that's what you're talking about.

I can see some rust on the base where the bottom of the tubing meets the snorkel tube.

I'm trying to get one.

The clamp is at the TB. That's not the problem, the clamp is easy to pull off It's just that on the tube itself is a little jut where a little pipe sticks in and that pipe isn't coming out. There's no clamp on that pipe like there are for tubes like the coolant tubes so I don't even know if I'm allowed to pull this thing out. I tried pulling and twisting on it and it wouldn't budge.

Even if I were to remove the clamp, since this offending pipe is attached to the tube and this pipe is anchored and can't stretch I would be unable to pull the snorkel tube out and move it out of the way so I can access the TB.

I looked in the Hanyes manual and it appears to be the Startup Valve that this pipe is connected to. The Startup Valve looks similar to the FITV and it's right next to it. Only the FITV and IACV are on the same side and face the fender but the Startup Valve is on the adjacent side facing the brake master cylinder and the drivers side.

I don't know if these instructions and pictures in this link will help you:

lightningmotorsports.info/90accord_cai_install.htm

Of course you don't need to remove everything that's shown in the link, as you are not replacing it with a cold air intake.

Excellent picture. You see number 32? To the left there's that little pipe floating? To the left of it you see the little jut sticking out? That's the thing the pipe goes in to.

Here it is.

It appears to be the "vacuum line on the nipple."

I guess I'm supposed to pull on it?
