Can't Reset Maintenance Minder

I just changed my oil and tried to re-set the oil life. After about 10 seconds of holding the reset button in, the oil life started flashing along with a service code B12. Both flashed and never stopped flashing. My oil life did not re-set. Never had this issue before. Any help out there?

When it starts flashing let off the button then press and hold it again till it resets. (usually about 5 seconds)
