Car struggles going uphill on 1st or 2nd gear
I have a 1994 Honda Accord DX that is stick shift with a little over 150k miles. For the past couple weeks I have noticed a decline in power in my car. When I'm on a hill or incline and i try to go up the hill on 1st gear the car struggles to go up the hill and even if I floor it the RPMs are higher than the actual power that the car has to go up the hill.
Sometimes I notice the wheels slipping as well when i try to accelerate on the hill. When I am driving now i also noticed that when i am on 4th or 5th gear that the car just isnt going as fast as it usually would since this problem has occured.
Does anyone think a basic tune up may help fix this issue or can this possibly be a clutch problem? Thanks for the feedback guys.

If the RPM goes up without the corresponding increase in road-speed, that sounds like a slipping clutch. Just imagine holding the clutch pedal partway down - it would act that way even without pressing the pedal. Is that a good description of what's happening?

You are absolutely right in your description. My brother thought the exact same thing that my clutch was slipping but i just wanted to describe it to someone else as well to see if they have the same general consensus. Thanks alot Jim
