The ECU grounds the main fuel relay. The connector should not have ground available to it.

You should check for power at one of the pins for the ecu/backup fuse in the engine bay box. It is a 7.5 amp fuse. Do this with the key turned to the II position. That would verify the ignition switch is supplying power to one side of that fuse.

The main EFI relay is really in 2 halves.

The ECU closes the ground side of the pull-in circuit for the fuel pump portion of the main EFI relay. But thats not the ground I was talking about.

Theother half of the main EFI relay switches power on for the ECU itself. Itmust have a ground pin for that section, so it can pull in that relay & switch on the ECU. But thats not even the grounds I was talking about.

The ECU has more than on ground point in ITS wiring harness connections (& they dont ground to the main relay). Some are sensor-reference grounds, some are current-collecting grounds for stuff like injectors & other solenoid valves.

Ifsome of these grounds are open, it can cause the problems.

I Have checked voltage to the ecu and backup fuses, they have power. But I have no power @ the computer. The car has never run while hot wiring the fuel pump half of the main relay. My main relay is tested and is good. The feeds to the relay are bad, Ie computer is not coming on. No power @ the computer. I jumped 12 volts to the wire mentioned above and still the car would not give spark pulse, and fire.
How hard is it to rewire a honda? I have rewired 2 nissan before. Really thinking about trading this to my neighbor, If I could just hot wire the thing.

Here is a quick test for continuity between the fuse box and the ecu on that wht/yel wire:

Do this with the key off. Unplug ECU D connector. Get a long piece of wire and plug it into D1 so the ECU end can be near the engine bay fuse box. Alternatively, you can ground that wht/yel wire.

Use the continuity (or resistance) reading on the volt meter. Check that cold side of the 7.5 amp backup fuse fuse has continuity to the extended wire (or ground if you grounded the wht/yel wire).

If the circuit is open, then unbolt the fuse box, unplug the connectors behind it, and test that same wht/yel wire for continuity as before. I do not know which plug will have your wire.

If you now have continuity, then there is a break in the fuse box. If you do not have continuity, then there is a problem with the wht/yel wire that goes to the ECU.

Have you checked that the ignition works? Seems strange that you have no fuel and no spark, but things test out when jumpped.

Finally figured it out!!!!! Thanks to all who helped...Turns out grounding the #2 terminal did correct my problem. I was unable to see the spark, but after I drained the gas tank, sprayed starting fluid, and jumped #2 terminal @ the main relay. It ran !!!! I was so close to trading my buddy for a infinityQ. Thanks to all !! Happy winter season to all !!

Don't thank god, thank Pa honda / Jim Blake !! I can't wait to help out some others now that I have had a lesson in honda main relays. BTW The infinity isn't that bad...I have been a nissan owner/ fan for 10 years+ I have had14 of them all had over 250,000 even the 4 cylinders. Never saw one blow unless it wasn't maintained. And trust me I tried to kill all of them, especially the 300zx turbo.
