Question Car would not start. Hood couldn't be opened. What can I do?

So I left my car (2002 Accord 2.3L SE) unused for about a week under freezing weather. Now it won't start. The battery is about 5 years old fyi.
I couldn't open the hood because of the previous accident (previous thread)
There is a small gap between the hood and the body. Not sure if the jumper cable can reach the battery
(Img1, Img2)

Is there any way to fix this? Thank you!

Your battery is on the driver side. You are going to have to find someone to get the hood open for you. If you have another person to assist maybe someone can pull the lever as the other pull up on the hood if it still works

Thank you. I believe the battery is on the passenger side (link). Unfortunately open the hood is not an option because it won't be able to close again

You are correct. I automatically thought about the v6 instead of reading the post.

The only suggestion I can give is if you want to get the car running you are going to have to open it up or bend the hood (not suggested). If you get it open and need it to be closed get rope and tie it down. Those are your only options unless you get the damage fixed.

If you get the hood open, you could drill some holes in it for hood pins. Then you could add some small pad locks to keep stuff secure If you go out of town again. By the way, batteries are only good for about 7 years any more (or so it seems).
