Caveman w/a question
The search didn't yield anything and I am a complete caveman when it comes to mechanics. Please help.
History- I was willed a 1998 Accord V6 recently. When I picked the car up it had a dead battery. Jump started it and it ran like a champ for the 50 mile trip back home. Next day, dead battery. I went to Sears and asked them to get me the CHEAPEST battery that this car would take (stupid, I know). I was planning on selling it but since have decided to keep it.
With the new battery installed the car idles extremly rough. It starts fine @ around 1000rpm and then suddenly pulses to 2000-2500rpm and then back down again. This continues until I finally shut it off.
Could my buying of a cheap battery be causing this pulsing/rough idle or has an other problem arisen?
Thanks in advance,
