all connections and grounds are clean and snug. after topping the oil off and the ECM being reset from pulling the backup fuse and disconnecting the battery the CEL still has yet to come back on. Thanks for the help though guys

ok It finally popped on again. same thing driving down the interstate about 70. anywho I caught the code this time. 3 short flashes...MAP sensor? wouldn't my car be running strangely?

Your MAP sensor is #31 in the box with all the vacuum tubes.


Your enigne controller can fake it if certain measurement dissappear. Probably it will add a little extra fuel to be comfortable. Going lean can be worse than going rich. It probably will not run funny. But it might fail smog checks & get worse MPG. And maybe overheat your cat-converter.

Look for loose/dirty/corroded electrical plug at that MAP sensor?

ok cool thanks for the diagram. I could not find it to save my life hehe. yay theres nearly $300 for a part
