Default CEL codes 8 + 43 after new motor

With my 93 Accord MT, I've just had a Honda dealer put in a new used stock motor. Drives like a new car for the most part.

First issue was a rev limiter (at @ 3500), even in neutral, after about 2 hrs of driving, yesterday. I looked it up, was getting CEL codes 8 + 43 (TDC sensor + Fuel supply) checked spark plug wire connections, re-started, and rev has been fine ever since.

Then noticed what is probably the fuel issue, and did this with the last motor, she bogs down every now and then at low RPMs, give it more gas and it's fine.. Previous owner 6 months ago told me that that turning the car off and on fixes it, which it does for the most part.

The car has 250k and the new motor has about 170k, I will probably do alternator, battery and fuel pump and see if that helps, thanks in advance for any help.

I'd suggest to not throw parts at it and do some diagnosis. Most parts stores will test a battery and alternator as a free service.

There is oil on bottom of distributor, I'm thinking this explains intermittent loss of power and would explain tdc sensor. Seals and or distributor itself.

Is the oil inside or outside of the distributor? Oil inside the distributor would mean the distributor shaft-seal is leaking. Oil only on the outside of the distributor would mean the O-ring at the base of the distributor and that's an easy fix.

Oil on the outside of the distributor, very little on bottom of inside of cap. Got rev limiter again today (3500 even in neutral) however it stopped doing the intermittent loss of power/backfire thing no matter what I did. Couldn't rev over 3500, drove and idled perfect. Turn it off and on and it's the other way around so must be something the ecu's not liking. Taking it in on Monday but just want to get all the info I can.

Remove the distributor, change the O-ring that's around the part that sticks into the head.

Got a spark timing light? If you don't, then mark the distributor real well so you can get it back in exactly the same position.

Yeah the distributor had some bare wires on the inside, replaced the o ring as well as insulating wires and seems to be fine.
