CEL Help
I have a 1995 Honda accord 2dr Ex and my engine light came on about a week ago. I just recently had the time to check for the code, and since it is OBD1 I came up with 2 long blinks 2 short, or 22. When I checked this out I found that code 22 represents the VTEC pressure switch. I have noticed less performance than normal as of recently, should I replace the switch right away or are there other things that could be the cause of a code 22 ? Any help and suggestions are much appreciated.

Disconnect electrical connector to pressure switch (near distributor and immediately below Vtec solenoid). Check switch contacts resistance w/ VOM and engine running (fully warmed). VOM should show a dead short (zero resistance). If open, the pressure switch is bad and must be replaced. If it shows zero resistance, a wiring or connector problem is likely cause of fault. Inspect both carefully.
If you can't find a wiring or connector fault, and code 22 returns you may have an ECU fault.
If a wiring error is indicated, you will need to trace to next connector towards ECU looking for a fault, and ultimately at the ECU connector. If all show zero resistance, the ECU internal fault is causing the code and ECU should be replaced.
good luck
