Default Check Fuel Cap

After leaving a fast food restaurant tonight, I started my car, and got that blinking message (CHECK FUEL CAP) in the display where the Odometer reading normally sits when I started the car. I shut off the car, checked the cap, took it off, then put it back on again, I allowed it to click 4-5 times. This is an '06 Accord Sedan with less than 6,000 miles on it. According to the owner's manual, it could take several days for the message to stop displaying itself every time I start the car. Has this happened to anyone at that low of mileage? Keep in mind, I DO NOT have a Check Engine Light on with this at the same time. I have my first service coming up this weekend on the car and I'm wondering if I should try to get an earlier appointment. Any thoughts?
