Default loose fuel cap??

The warning light for a "loose fuel cap", came on so I stopped and checked the gas cap. It was tight as usual. The warning still comes on and then I push the speedo reset and it resets till I stop and restart the engine. The warning reappears. HELP!

The light should go out by itself within a week or so. As long as the gas cap stays tight.

If it DOESN'T clear by itself, then start looking for other things around the gas tank. That code really means "YOUR GAS TANK ISN'T AIRTIGHT".

Bad gasket on the cap, even tho it's tight. Cracks in the fill pipe. Leaky gasket around the fuelpump/gauge sender. Stuff like that.
