choke wont kick in

choke wont kick in

I have a 1989 Honda Accord lx, when the weather is cold sometimes the automatic choke wont kick in right away. Someone told me I need a new battery? It has happened when it is hot outside too. Please help..

Doesn't sound like battery to me. More like the choke linkage needs to be cleaned up, maybe adjusted, so it works properly.
