Within the last 2 months or so, my 2014 Accord Sport has developed a "clicking" noise behind the dashboard/steering column. It happens quite frequently, most noticeably as slower speeds (less road noise). It seems to occur when driving over uneven surfaces, although it doesn't happen every time. I've removed some of the dash paneling to check for loose hardnesses, etc. but had no success. Turning on/off the air conditioner has no effect. Any thoughts?

 

Occasionally on new vehicles, plastic parts will stick/slip where they may contact under load producing a click or pop. If you can isolate where the noise is, some "plastic protectants" may provide enough lube to prevent the stick/slip action.

Just me but if you can re-produce the "sound" all the time......go to the dealer where you bought the car and take the service manager for a ride. Let them fix the issue or at least document it.
