Default Clock backlight on 2000 Odyssey LX

Please tell me how to change the clock backlight on a 2000 Honda Odyssey LX. The Clock is on a separate panel of the dashboard together with the Hazard Flasher On/Off switch. Can I try pulling out the clock together with the Hazard switch or do I have to take apart the whole dashboard? Please help me. I drive at night and I can't see what time it is.

You're not alone. I had the same problem.

the clock assembly, sounds the same as the accord) should be attached w/ clips, so it should snap out. Pull from the bottom.

So frustrating! I have a 2000 Odyssey, and the backlight quit working after about 3 years. When I went to the car wash about a year ago, it magically began working again. Yesterday, I wiped down the dashboard, and just as magically, the backlight doesn't work anymore.

I clicked on the service bulletin above, and it said to remove the instrument panel. I'm assumming this is pretty much most of the dashboard. It sounds like a bigger deal than I want to get into, so can someone please comment on how indepth this process is?

Nope, not on the odyseey, they take a little more work than that. You have to remove the bezel around the heater controls to get to the screws hloding the gauge bezel down. (which has to come out to replace the bulb on the back of the clock)

Thanks for the info. I was afraid to pry too hard on the trim around the clock for fear of breaking it - glad I didn't do that!
