clutch pedal slop

clutch pedal slop
My clutch pedal has about one half to a full inch of slack in it. I know that my car has a hydraulic clutch so it can't be a cable that is loose. it doesn't worry me very much because every gear still engages but I worry that the clutch may be wearing out because today I put the car in 2nd gear from 1st coming around a turn (albeit under full throttle) and the clutch slipped until I let off the gas pedal. This has happened more than once in the past as well. (Apologies for the run-on, I'm dictating on my phone)
My question is, are there any bolts in the pedal assembly that I should tighten, or am I looking at a new clutch?

- Loosen cruise control clutch pedal switch or adjusting bolt locknut and back switch or bolt off until it no longer touches clutch pedal, Fig. 1.
- Loosen master cylinder pushrod locknut and turn in or out until specified clutch pedal stroke and height have been obtained, then tighten locknut.
b. Clutch Pedal Free Play: 0.35 - 0.59 inches
c. Clutch Pedal (un-depressed) to floorboard: 7.24 inches
d. Clutch Pedal (fully depressed) to floorboard: 2.90 inches
- Turn clutch pedal switch or adjusting bolt in until it contacts pedal.
- Turn another 1/4 - 1/2 turn further and tighten locknut.
- Loosen clutch interlock switch locknut and measure clearance between floor board and clutch pedal with clutch pedal fully depressed.
- Release clutch pedal 0.59 - 0.79 inch from fully depressed position and hold.
- Adjust clutch interlock switch so engine will start with clutch pedal in this position.
- Turn another 1/4 - 1/2 turn further and tighten locknut.
