Clutch problem????
I had a new clutch installed in my car several months ago, due to what was diagnosed as a faulty throw-out bearing (though I kind of disagreed, and with the new clutch the chirping sound is still there when I idle).
Something is definitely screwy now. With the car at a stop, if I put in the clutch and shift into gear the entire car vibrates. I watched my engine today while a friend shifted through the gears (with the car stopped), and the engine/tranny shake quite a bit when the car is in gear, though the clutch pedal is to the floor. Almost seems like the clutch isn't fully disengaging. Strange thing though is that the car does not roll or move as a result.
Any ideas what could be wrong with my car? I'd like to sort this out before it causes transmission troubles. Thanks for the help!

RE: Clutch problem????
Today I put the front wheels on jack stands, pushed in the clutch pedal, and shifted into first gear. The wheels spun rapidly, so I'm sure that the clutch is not fully disengaging.
falkore24: I bet your diagnosis about the hydraulics is correct. Still, tomorrow I'm going to take the car back to the shop that installed the new clutch. I didn't have any problems with the old clutch not disengaging, so maybe the hydraulic line or something was damaged when the tranny was reinstalled? I have no idea . . . I'll update when I know the end of the story.
On a strange side note, the clutch fluid is full, and I can't see any leakage on or around the slave or the master cylinder . . .

RE: Clutch problem????
I got it back from the shop today. The tech said that he adjusted the clutch. He said that he adjusted the rod in the slave cylinder and something with the pedal. It drives fine now, and the clutch is fully disengaging.
I was under the impression that the clutch was not adjustable. What did the tech adjust?

RE: Clutch problem????
Its a semantics issue. The pushrod from the clutch pedal to the clutchmaster cylinder is adjustable.
It is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE adjusted on a routine basis, because the hydraulic system is designed to automatically adjust itself as the clutch wears out.
