the next time it doesnt do anything on the first try dont touch the clutch... tap the ignition switch side of the steering column .. if it starts its more likely the ignition switch contacts

if it still doesnt start tap the starter

if it starts not starting after driving it and letting it sit for a few minutes its likely the ignition switch contacts

Again i appreciate the advice but when i say i have already checked both the starter and ignition circuits and have ran the problem down to the clutch switch i have. I know quite a bit about automotive electrical systems and again i really appreciate your input. Also I rewired autos professionally for a many years and when i say i will splice the wires it wont be a "hack job". It will in fact look like it was meant to be that way. besides if i splice it i assure you even that would be temporary until I replace the malfunctioning part.

Is it the switch or the relay? Hummm

YES, the manual trans cars in this gen have a starter relay.

You can jump/by-pass the inhibitor switch - as stated there are two on the clutch, one for starting one for the cruise control. If the issue is still there, well time to test/replace the starter relay.
