I have a 99 Accord LE, v6, 3.0L that needs an alternator and an instrument cluster. I found a 98 and 2001 at the junkyard and I was wondering if the instrument cluster from the 2001 will work in my 99? They look very similar and both have a digital odometer. Somebody told me that after i replace the cluster my odometer will have the mileage from the car I picked it from and not the true mileage. Is that true?

 

Can't say for sure that it won't work, as for the most part, the instrument gauge connector wiring are very similar. 01 added a wire for related to ABS/TCS.

Some circuits for an 01 is slightly different.

The mileage will be whatever is on the cluster at the junkyard.
