My 1994 Volvo needs enough work that I'm considering replacing it. I've never driven an Accord but have read good things about the car and its V6 engine. I'm considering a low-mileage 2005 Accord EX V6 Automatic and am wondering about a few things.

- Was there a significant model change from 2005 to 2006?

- Does anyone know it there will be a significant model change for 2007?

- Does the 2005 Accord EX V6 have side air bags?

- What's the real highway-cruising gas mileage for that car? My Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon is only rated at 25 EPA highway but gets 28-29 during freeway cruising at 65-70 mph.

- Anything else I should know?

the 08 is the next slotted update for the Accord (so I hear). The 06 was a design/body style change I believe. I currently have an 06, but will be getting an 07 shortly, and hear its a virtual carry over model year.

Accords are swell. After 10 Hondas, I just got an Accord for the first time last month. So far, I'm glad I made the switch!

Check out the new 06's. I only paid $19,300 for an EX Sedan (though, it's only a 4cyl). However, MSRP was over $23k, so I got a hefty discount. Sometimes its cheaper to buy new, than deal with the high re-sale value of the used Hondas. I've seen this many times over, and keep deciding to go with new vs used. Check it out in your particular situation, it might be cheaper to buy new? Best regards.

Thanks for the very good replies. I got a second opinion today, from a well-regarded independent Volvo shop instead of a dealer, and the must-do list dropped from $1500 to $400, so I'm holding on to the Volvo a while longer. I may just decide to replace it anyway but will be in no hurry, and your replies will be very helpful in that case.
