Control arm replacement for 2000 accord v6 lx
Does anyone have a link to a DIY for the replacement of the upper control arm driver side for a 2000 accord v6 "lx" I think (no leather).
Its not clunking yet, just a yawning.
I'm curious to know what size sockets, wrenches, tools I'm going to need in particular. I heard that I will need to put a load on the control arm to install.
Once the car goes up I'm stuck at home till the job is done.
I went in to have an alignment done and they didnt notice it then :-(

That job isn't too hard to do.
Loosen lug nuts, jack up that side of the car, put on jack stand. Remove tire. Put jack underneath lower control arm to support the knuckle. Take out cotter pin #20. Remove castle nut #15. Use ball joint separator (or Pittman puller) to brake upper ball joint from upper part of the knuckle). The knuckle might want to fall towards you, so you may want some bungee chords to hold it back. Unbolt #14 bolts. The upper control arm should come right out.
Installation is the reverse order. Use the the jack to get the knuckle close to the upper ball joint when you reinstall #15 castle nut. Try to keep #14 barely snug at the end. Put the tire back on, lower the car, push down on that side of the car so the upper control arm is in its "resting position". Tighten both #14's with the tire on there and the car on the ground. You do this so the control arm rubber bushings have no stress when the car is in its resting position.
