Unhappy Cooling part needed

Howdy,
I took my car out on the freeway last week and thought I blew a water hose. What broke instead was one of the cooling system connectors. It looks like a lower case t and connects 4 hoses. I have been looking locally (none available) and Pick-A-Part does not have any cars with the part intact. The part that broke connects a small hose that goes back to the (idle control???). You can see a picture of it in that manual you can get online (cooling pg10-2).

Any thought besides how really screwed i am right now?

The car is a 1989 Accord LXi with Fuel injection and 268K plus miles still going strong... except for the lack of fluid in the cooling system

Majestic Honda shows no OEM parts. Suggest car-part.com and look near your zip code for matching models. You may have difficulty getting help from salvage yards. They tend to lose interest in small parts (low return).

Also check ebay. You might have to buy an entire intake manifold to get part you need.

Look at part. Could a replacement be fabricated?

good luck

Yeah, I could not even find what they call the part. All of the junk yard have been searched locally. I may just have to make something but my metal shop skill are in the past.

The upper radiator hose plugs into the thermostat. a hose comes off the thermostat onto this "t" fitting and sent to 3 different places. They probably sold those fittings for under $20 in 1989.

A fellow 3rd gen owner...nice.

Due to recent events in my life I'm pairing down my fleet...had an 86 LX, 87 LX...still have an 88 LXi(soon to be sold) and keeping the two 89's in my signature.
